We're changing gears.

As we rev up for the next leg of our journey, we’d like to thank you for hitching a ride.

Since turning the engines over for the first time seven years ago, we’ve put a lot of miles on Ella’s tires. We parked her last summer, with the promise of a #summeroffun and a focus on our next destination. Paying the bills got in the way of both, and our potential permanent parking spot slipped through our fingers like a fallen fish taco.

Some days, it’s hard to smile through the endless queries of “When are you opening a restaurant?” but the unrelenting support we’ve felt from all of you has kept us trucking. We want to thank you for taking the trip with us – from our very first guests on the green roof at Flat Rock Cellars in 2010, to the lucky few who got the scoop on our Kickstand Supper Club; the seemingly endless lineups at Food Truck Eats and Sew Hungry; the hardcore red curry coveters who faithfully waited in the sleet and snow at Montebello Park; the fish taco fanatics at sunny supper markets, and our beloved beer shed regulars who have pulled up stools at Oast House for over four years – we can not thank you enough for your appetites and your friendship, and we hope you’re up for another adventure.

We moved to Niagara because it was on the cusp of greatness, and we are proud to have been a small part of its growth and prosperity for almost a decade. It hasn’t been an easy ride, but it’s been a validating one: unanimous votes in favour of street food reform at city council; open-minded media who have had our backs in the face of close-minded fear-mongers; recognition from the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, and most recently, the FirstOntario 1Awards.

And the best part is, we’re just getting started.

We have felt the love and appreciation for our contribution to Niagara. We also feel a responsibility, and we are not about to let you down. We’re founded on the principle that ‘a higher tide floats all boats’, and it has been an honour to support our fellow entrepreneurs through collaborations, mentorship, or just a cold pint at the end of a long week to help ensure Niagara’s food scene is solid and sustainable.

As we embark on the next leg of our journey, we will continue to work closely with our friends at Niagara Oast House Brewers, and the amazing wineries, distilleries, and chefs of Niagara to produce delicious events that showcase the best our region has to offer.

We want you to be the first to know what we’re up to next, so follow along and sign up for the EGV Dispatch for a first class ticket to our next destination!
